I did not post anything trading related for ages... in fact I got rid of it in my blog. Maybe that was a bad idea, as I miss posting about trading, so more stuff coming up. :)
Here's this morning's 'quickie'. NQ, Long 2517, closed the trade at 2521 for quick 4 points on a retest of Globex high resistance. It was reasonable to expect at least a medium size pullback as we were in a range environment, so taking partial profits was a reasonable move as was closing the trade. As subsequent price action indicated, NQ had to retest an earlier support TL before being ready to move up again.

I find myself absolutely astonished at life. Not because life turned out so strange for me... but because I have never caused anything to happen in my life, good or bad. Everything just happened. What took place just happened. Within and without, all events and happenings were necessary and unavoidable.

The ego is not, and never has been, the master of life. The idea of creating experiences or fitting the flow of life into what we want is an illusion, often a very painful one.

Looking at the past, I feel I could not have done a single thing different. The way I acted, thought, and felt, was always based on irrepressible impulses that I did not choose, and could not have avoided.

Consequence: I feel no guilt or regret over anything. I feel compassion towards myself and others... because ultimately none of us can help what we are.

If this makes me a fatalist and a determinist, then I am a fatalist and a determinist. And I am in a very good company.

I have not reviewed any books recently, so... Just finished reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. A gut wrenching account of 'how the West was lost'. Makes you think about the karma that the US generated for itself long term.
The clip is from Little Big Man, with Dustin Hoffman. It's the scene where Little Big Man owns Custer by goading him into a brash attack (by appealing to his vanity and pride) that results in his death and the whipping out of the 7th cavalry. A great movie, by the way.

It's easy to tell the difference.
Everything fake has some kind of fear attached to it, typically a fear of loss.
Everything real is changeless, free, and without fear.

So whenever I feel fear, I know I bought into some kind of delusion.
